BECAUSE THE GESTATION PERIOD IS LONGER THAN (lets say)9 MONTHS A CAT OR DOG IS 63 DAYS. SO THERE EYES HAVE TIME TO OPEN IN THE WOMB. SOMETIMES PREMIES EYES ARN'T OPENED.
