The US Government's own figures indicate that marijuana is about a 35 billion dollar crop in the US -- larger than any other crop by a big margin. If the tax was just ten percent -- slightly more than a typical state sales tax, it would produce about 3.5 billion dollars in revenue per year.

Yes, legalizing it would be the best option. Prisoning minor nonviolent offenders who are just trying to enjoy their lives is not helping them what so ever. And if anyone is abusing the drug, putting them in prison wont help either, it will actually make it worse. Getting them counseling and physiological help is what they will need. The only problem with legalizing marijuana is that government officials dont want to because it will effect our major industries in america (fuel industry, paper and timber industry, and tobacco industry). Hemp can be produced much quicker, cheaper, and more efficient then any kind of timber or paper. Also using it as a fuel would be much smarter and more economically friendly then any gasoline. But yes i do believe we should legalize it because it would eliminate all the fuss and stress that is put on marijuana smokers. People need to just chill the **** out and smoke a ****** blunt.

I like the way you're thinking! The potency level could be regulated and consumer sales would go up in so many areas like;
Grocery stores, Furniture stores (gotta be a comfy couch potato), Electronics, and many more.
The biggest benefit would be that more people would stay home instead of going out to bars and drinking.
I think the Government should give this a shot.

I don't smoke but I think it's a great idea! Legalize it then tax the living hell out of it. It will be easier to manage and it'll give the health fun police something else to do for awhile.

That actually seems low to me. The Government could charge a lot more if they wanted to.

I'm sure the government will charge a lot more then that if they ever legalized it.
