How do I beat the Water Element in FFXII?

It's stopping me from killing my mark, the White Mousse.

I meant 'Water Elemental'

Thanks for the answer about 'leveling up'. I know that is one option, I just wanted to know if the elemental had a weakness or if there was a special weapon to use to kill it.

simple.. level up.. and use your strongest melee characters, equip them with strong weapon.. perhaps, something like zodiac spear.
