Most women do or can gain a bit of weight just before their periods. If you do that. then you lose that weight in the first couple of days of your period.
That's simply because the type and timing of the female hromonal cycle can cause some temporary fluid retention, which is seen on the scales as a weight gain and then loss.

Most women gain up to 5 pounds during their period, and sometimes the week before. This is due to water retention, hormones, and probably some to do with all the food we crave during that time of the month!

I have never lost weight during my period. Usually I gain (I guess water weight) before and through the period. If you are losing and it's a concern, please see your doc. If you're trying to lose during your period, it probably is the wrong time of the month to try to lose. Wait till after you have stopped. I usually gain 3-5 pounds the week before my period. It seems to level out the week after my period is finished.

When you are on your period, there is no weight involved. The blood loss does not affect your weight. There is not enough to affect your weight.
How much you eat (depending on cramps) You don't lose a lot, unless you cut back on eating a lot.

Lose? Heck no, more like GAIN. From all the water retention and from eating too much.
