As we all get bigger as a nation, I think being bigger will become more acceptable generally. Fashion still hasn't quite caught up - too many models look thin enough to be boys (especially above the waist!) Even today, though there are men who prefer bigger girls to smaller. It's not a majority, but they exist.

For me, the word "pretty" is more of a personality type of thing. I have friends that are plus-sized and to me, they are beautiful in every way. I really believe it doesn't matter your size. I mean I've seen girls that are a size 0, and judging by their face htey aren't very welcome or pretty. Every person is unique and beautiful in every way. There are so many different people in this world, I can't even define the term "pretty." For example, America Ferrera (the actress) may not be the most thin person, but by her face, smile, and how she presents herself she is very beautiful. It also depends if the person is confident. If you are a plus-sized girl but are very self-councious and not confident about yourself, you may not present yourself as "pretty." But if you stand up straight, look people in hte eye, smile, and show the world you are confident, people will get the impression that you are the prettiest girl in the world!

Plus size women are most beautiful, when they wear cloths that are for their body type and carry themselves well. A plus size women to me can be ugly if she wears too tight or too short of clothing.Everyone has their own special glow.
Not to say never but the media has, at this moment in time their own concieved notion about being skinny. And so therefore plus sizes are not front page headliners.

During the Renaissance voluptuous women were in style.
I believe yes fashion goes in cycles.
When this will happen? don't know?
But the real question is are they healthy?Being over weight can cause many health problems.Its best to stay at a normal weight.And best not to lose a lot and then gain a lot.This is very hard on the body.Eat right and exercises!

It used to be so, but that was in the late 1500s - early 1600s.
It was fashionable to be a bit plump in the early 1900s, as well, but we are all born too late for that.
Until advertisements stop using girls whose BMIs are under 18, there's no way anyone will ever be happy unless they are bony. It's so sad.

Not generally, but I've seen some fat girls who I thought were very pretty.

Depends what's fat? Some girls carry it well and others don't. If you are pretty then being overweight won't make you look ugly but if you are plain then no matter how thin you get you won't look prettier.

there are some with, that have cute faces, a warm heart and a nice personality. so yes why not. and can you imagine if you put em in a work out routine and they loose the weight. hmmmmmmm hmmmmmmmmmm thats the perfect girl.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. what you may think is pretty, may not be what the nest person thinks.
try not to be so harsh, and stereotypical.
