Well... sorta....
They have Michael's bears (or any other bear I can find for less than $10)... and every now and then I will let them pick out an outfit from Build-A-Bear.
This way they get the experience but I get to keep my hard earned cash. My wife even threw a "build-a-bear" birthday party for my daughter at home, with pre-made stuffed animals and assorted clothing. She even printed birth certificates from the web so the girls could personalize their creations. It went off really well.

I don't have kids but I am 20 and I took my two friends and let them make one each for their birthday. It was so cute and so much fun...in my opinion your never too old for a teddy bear!!! One friend made a doggy and the other made a teddy bear.

Yes, my daughter has the bunny. She begged to go and she bought all the goddies with it and has never touched it again. I do know that some of her Friends love theirs and play with them but it was a big waste of money in my opinion. It was about $70.00 and it has never been played with she never even wanted to take it out of the car. Wow the crazy things parents do for their kids these days. My parents would have never even thought about letting us get a $70.00 bear!!!

My teen loves them. She has a Hello Kitty, Bear dressed as Sleeping Beauty, a preppy frog, and an elephant dressed preppy.

My daughter has 3: princess kitty, movie star bunny, cookie the white poodle. My son has 3: sam the boxer?, fluffy the bunny and teddy, the bear. I have the brown and white dog named snuggles.

my kids and my husband made some for me a few years back.
i have a leopard that is dressed in a corduroy skirt and lovely white sweater that meows, and a bear with a "princess" jersey that whinnies like a horse. my husband made me a monkey in a tux.
i love them all!

my daughter made one a couple summers ago (she was 4). it has jean shorts and a white tank top with sequense and sketchers.....it matched what she was wearing at the time she made it. she named it twinkle because "her" shirt "twinkled". the bear lays in a doll crib beside her bed in her room! pay all that money and she doesn't even take the bear anywhere or plays with it or anything......i guess we can say it was worth it because of the memory?!?
