Bass guitars play the lower tones of the music and don't play chords. They are the muscle of the music attached to the spine provided by the drums.
Guitars play either rythym lines in the higher tones or lead lines and/or chords.

Bass Guitars usually have only four strings

Guitar usually have six

Bass guitars can have 4, 5 and 6 strings. and can be electric or acoustic just like a regular 6 string or 12 string guitar.

well first of all basses have four strings and electric guitars have 6 second basses have a low pitched sound and electric guitars have a higher pitched sound third basses are bigger and guitars are smaller if u need more post this question again

I assume you mean construction...

Bass and electric guitars share the following:

1) Electronics that include pickups
2) Body, neck, frets and other structural details (although they are different sizes)
3) Identical method of calculating fret distance (called the 17 Rule)
4) Identical string vibration theories (although bass strings vibrate at a much lower frequency)
5) Both use even tempered tuning and compensated scale lengths

um...the first four strings on an electric guitar are the same as the bass's strings...

bass has 4 strings standard tuned EADG while the guitar has 6 strings standard tuned EADGBe, the bass also sounds thicker and pretty much follows the guitars riffs........why are you doing your sons project
