Not global warming... ask the people as nearby as Syracuse about global warming this year... they'll get a chuckle out of that. Call someone in Denver... if their phone service has been reconnected. I don't think "global warming" is quite that selective.

Maybe indirectly, but not directly. Global warming doesn't work like that. Global warming is only noticeable over the span of many years, decades even, and its effects are *global* not local. Global warming will change weather patterns around the world, some places will get warmer, some will get colder. Some will get more rain/snow, some will get less. But there's no way to peg the weather in any given month as being caused by global warming - we really have to look at long-term trends. So maybe 30 years from now we will be able to answer your question definitively, but not today.

PS - Global warming *is* happening.

Per the NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration) spokesperson, it is being caused by an El Nino condition that is still in effect from last year, and is not related to global warming. The El Nino is keeping the cold air from Canada further north than in non-El Nino seasons.

I'veread the it has more to do with el Nino this year than global warming. At least that's the curent belief.

Its a combination of global warming (even though no one wants to admit it) and el nino or nina whatever I am no meteoroligist, however I do know that they said that it is blocking the cold air we get from canada and so we stay hot..here is a link that has a video that explains it waaaayyy better than me. enjoy!

i'm sure that's part of it, but my mom told me that it also had to do with the el nino effect. either way, i love the weather, but it's kind of scary, too! who ever heard of a new england winter with no snow?! weird.
