I have an automatic, he has a manual. I don't know what kind of racer he is, but he's pretty new with the clutch. Help?

Depends on your Mustang and the driver, doesn't it?

I have a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon SE V6, my tiburon has 172 horsepower and 181 lbs of torque. It's stock right now. One of my friends has a stock 2003 V6 mustang and his gets about 190 hp. But yours being an automatic will be a disadvantage though. It is also depending on the year of your mustang. Another friend of mine has a 2005 mustang V6 that gets 212 hp and it is stock. You should give a little more info on your mustang and if the Tiburon is modified or not. But if it's a competition of both cars being stock, your mustang would probably win.

Unlessthe Hyundai has been highly modified i seriously doubt it. Hey, anything can happen....but really.
Give us some further info please...regarding your mustang - engine size and the other car if its modified in any way.
Just did a quick check. The Hyundai Tiburan V6 has a horsepower rating of 170. Even if your mustang is a 6 cylinder puts out around 190 horsepower if im correct. If you are talking about a V8 mustang, its much more than that. So you have him beat with horsepower either way regardless of what engine you have.
He might take you in the first few seconds, but in the long run you would beat him.

you kinda forgot to give us the info on your mustang.

Are both your cars stock? you can look it up online and get the 1/4 mile times for both cars.

if your mustang has the 3.8 on an automatic your out of luck they will smoke you all day! Im guessing since you doubt your mustangs speed you probally dont have very much under the hood. 3.8 v6 probally and its got a slow 1/4 mile time.

JustDAVES the weight diffrence in the V6 mustang and Tiburon and the fact that the tiburon is stick would give a great advantage to the riceburner. V6 2.7 DOHC tiburon=180HP, V6 3.8 mustang=150HP

Just cause its a mustang doesnt make it fast, if the mustang has an auto it is at a disadvantage unless it has a huge motor to make up the difference.

LOL!!!! You have got to be kidding!!! Unless you have a 6 cylinder.. My friend has one, I stomped him into last year with my 03 Durango with my 360. If you have an 8 cylinder you have nothing to worry about.

Frankly, sport, the Hyundai doesn't have to beat your Mustang. It has to beat the tow truck that your Mustang is hooked to. From the tow trucks I have seen, that shouldn't be a problem.

I doubt if it could beat your Mustang but be careful where you try it out.

Where I live, there are lightweight steel/alloy wheels, high performance air filter, high performance sparks, high performance spark wires, depending on the climate/weather and traffic in you vicinity, you may want to install cold air intake/air ram intake
