try cutting a hole with scissors, then sand a little with sand paper on the area, then fray the loose ends with your fingers, just kinda pull loose fibers off. : )

1. Rub some bleach on the general area (a very light layer)

2. Wash the jeans once

3. Slowly sandpaper the area and if the denim is very thick gently razor the area until there is a threadbare looks

4. Rub edges (of pockets, at the bottom of the legs etc.) with bleach and occasionally (random, DO NOT overdo this) cut a tny notch and pull/rub it until your projected "look" is achieved

5. Wash jeans again

6. Wear and enjoy, dont worry if they don't look immediately as worn as those in stores, it should take long for the hole to mature

* When rubbing bleach on the denim, do it lightly or else it will look cheap and 'craft project-like'

Utility or exacto knife. Then, use some small scissors to fray the edges and wash 2 or 3 times.
