Run the LiveCDrom of Linux, and then, take it with you when you leave! Use a small partition of Linux on the hard drive, for storing info and data, that windows users cannot see, or run.
You can also create a partition of about 10 Gb, on the hard drive, and install it there, and Windows cannot read the Linux system, but, the Linux system can read (change passwords, and do forensics!) all the Microsoft files!
Always use passwords! Make sure they are secure, but, actually, any passwords in Windows can be seen in a LiveCDrom Linux...

adding a password to your user, or my favorite...
Bring up the active proccesses menu on the task manager and deleting the process "explorer.exe" This is similar to putting the computer on lockdown. If you want to use the computer, bring up the task manager menu(control+alt+delete) and clicking on file, new process. Then type in "Explorer".
I have done this with my sister, and she got extremely frustrated and walked out of the room because she couldn't figure out how to use the computer...but they could always turn off the computer and turn it back on, but thats what the password is for.

Tell them to stop. Turn off the computer when you are done and take the power cord with you. Make a password.

set up a pre-login password. limit the access, you'll limit the use, if you really want to keep people off your computer, you can find a print scanner for about $150, hooked up, your fingerprint becomes a password which only you have access to (kind of frowned upon in big biz situations), they're all the rage with paranoid scizophrenic accountants, such as myself, it is a pain if you get a cut or a blister on your scanning finger

If they are accessing programs that you don't want them to, this is an easy fix. Just assign your computer a password so they will not be able to use it. This is what I do at home and at work.

For ultimate security, set up a password for you user name, done under control panel, accounts management. Also set up a BIOS password (warning, not for office computers), press f1, f2 or delete when you start up, and select set start up password (or something of that sort)
