The point is, ladies and gentleman, that 'greed' -- for lack of a better word -- is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms -- greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed -- you mark my words -- will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA.

Greed has its good and bad points. It's true that because of greed, the economy of the country rise to its advantage. However, when the government has too much greed and power, corruption would sets in. The country can break apart because of this. Greed can also lead to wars and social unrest.

So, basically, greed is good if the person or the society can control it.

No, greed is not a good thing. However, if an economy is constructed well, it will operate in such a way that even greed can help build the economy. That's what free markets allow.

In a world where people aren't perfect, it's a good thing that the economy is not built on human perfection, right? That's why communism failed. It can only work if people behave the way we hope they will.

Greed is defined as "an intense and selfish desire for something." Understood to mean a desire for money for money's sake, or power for power's sake, I do not think greed is a good thing. It is likely to tend to shrink a person, to make him excessively selfish, to lead him to do the wrong thing in order to satisfy this desire.

I would distinguish greed from a healthy self-interest. A healthy self-interest is good, and leads a person to be productive, to be sociable and maintain relationships. Self-interest is what motivates all those entrepreneurs who have provided products and services to fulfill so many wants and needs.

Greed is not good, but it's ok so long as it does not turn you into a selfish person.... then greed is bad. You can use greed for many good unselfish things.

greed brings envy
envy brings jealousy,
jealousy brings resentment
resentment brings anger
anger brings violence
violence brings wars
wars bring destruction
destruction brings poverty
poverty brings hunger
hunger brings disease
disease brings pain
pain brings sorrow
sorrow bring tears
tears bring despair
despair brings retaliation
retaliation brings revenge
revenge brings massacre
massacre brings death
death brings desolation
desolation brings famine
AND famine does not move up the economy!

But this is my opinion.

Have a prosperous new year.
