Good question. In sporting events, there are often winners and losers. In wars, everyone loses.

There are no two countries on earth who could win a war against the US. Even if they were both big countries. The US military budget is like 10 times bigger than the military budget of any other country.

Because sports are won because of skill, passion, and coaching; whereas wars are won by lethal technology, and manpower... You can have a low total population and still have members highly skilled at sports. In warfare, whichever country is willing to sacrifice the greater number of citizens wins; no skill involved. Pointless, isn't it?
Let's all go kill each other to settle our differences, because that will totally make a difference in the way one thinks.

Because sports are one on one and the person has training and for wars sports and wars , wars they don't have training it's not like football when you've known you've taken it to far + the people starting the wars are usually *******.

this is a result of the fact that some countries have learned faster then others that war is bad and sports are good. so they spend there money on sports fields and things of that nature

Sports are for athletes, who love the game! War is for poor losers, who never play fair! BTW Go CANADA and keep on keeping peace!

A. They spent all their money on one athlete to win the tournament.

B. The athlete is one person to train, the military is made of many people who cannot be watched and trained on an individual basis.

wow that is a good question ... I would like to know that myself. maybe if they pay the military that is guarding our life and our freedom the same thing they pay a pro ball player the out come might be different .... you think!!!
