I used to have a iud in but had it taking out in nov. I have had my period twice once in nov again in dec. My period was for 2-3 days. I have it for a week to a week and a half. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a iud before. To see if this is normally or not.

It is a normal side effect of the IUD. It will take your body some time to get used to the change. If your pattern of bleeding is extremely worrisome of doesn't normalize in another few months, talk to your doctor. Hope this helps! =)

I have the Mirena IUD. I have had my period as little as 24 hours and as long as 2 weeks. I think my body is still getting use to the hormones because I had it inserted almost 5 months ago and when they inserted they told me it can take up to a year for my body to fully get use to the IUD itself as well as the hormones. i have an iud - the mirena. i think its normal for you to be irregular for a while on any type of birth control as well as after you get off from one. i recently had my tubes tied but my doc left the iud in - no more periods for me until i hit menopause - isnt that the life!
