A lighthouse overlooking the water or maybe the beach might be cool. We don't want to pay a lot to rent a site. We think it might be nice to rent a couple of houses on the beach and have a wedding/reception right on the beach, but I don't know the rules on having a big party on the beach. Any ideas?

I would try Golden Gardens Park. It's right on the beach and they have a "Bathhouse" that you can rent for $250 if it's a dry reception or $500 with a liquor license. Here's the link:

I was just reading this book called "Good Locations for Weddings and Wedding AfterParties"

They said that one really good idea is to get married in a lighthouse overlooking the water. The book also writes and I quote "beaches are (maybe) cool (mostly during winter)"

How about hiring a boat to tie the knot right in the middle of the sea in international waters away from the coast so that you can claim to have wedded nowhere in any country!

I would suggest search Google Images for weddings and the city close to where you want to get married....or maybe beach weddings and the city.
