What caused wrestler Magnum TA(Terry Allen)to become paralyzed?

I know that it happened in the 80's sometime.

He crashed his porshe on his way to the next town. Jim Cornette talks about it in his RF Video shoot Interview. He's not paralyzed though, he can still walk but he's in really bad condition.

All that jumping around and landing wrong, he hurt his back permanently.. I would suggest you not become a wrestler...
