Luminaries (candle holders) are very pretty and easy to make from tin cans. Fill them with water and freeze, then use an awl or the end of a screw driver to punch holes in a decorative pattern. Let the ice melt and add a lit candle. They're really nice for lining the driveway or walkway in the evening when you're having a party.

I've covered them with fabric and made decorative desk accessories. I've also collected quite a few of them, wrapped them tightly together, draped a beautiful piece of fabric over them. I placed this grouping on my buffet table and placed a serving tray on top to give lift and importance to the food I was serving.I use several different levels on the same table. It looks quite lovely, and gives and added interest to the table.

I made a whimsical wind-chime out of several bean cans with holes in the bottom, suspended by twine to a wooden plaque. I call it my "Redneck" wind-chimes. I always get a smile when someone sees it. I just think it's a good way to poke fun at my own self.

Christmas 1956 was a bad year for my parents, they had no money. my father made tall, about 12 inches rockets, one for myself and one for my brother. they were made from cans and painted beautiful red. I loved it and so did my brother. I wish I still had it. it was the best Christmas ever

Pincushions from tuna cans. Easy to do, pad the outside with a layer of batting and then cover with choice of fabric and embellishments. For pincushion part, just use fiberfill covered with your choice of fabric and insert into can. Wa-la...a gift that cost very little......

I fill them with water and freeze it. Then I take the can of frozen water and using a hammer and nail, pierce holes in the sides in different patterns. I drain the water, spray paint it different colors and put tea candles in them.
