Why cant short people be runway models? some of the short people O know look 10 times better then some models now

I know it will hang better but there are some short people who would look better in the clothes

taller women appeal more to fashion designers i guess.

Most designers have a standard for the clothes they make (standard as in the length of seams).
Tall slender bodies usually carry the clothes a lot more elegantly as well.
There's a certain grace to it. Probably because of their long legs.
I really don't see short people pulling off the way they walk without looking funny.
Girls who are 5'7 are actually usually turned away too because that's just not tall enough.

I agree with you completely. However, from a photographer's eye, taller people's bodies look better than shorter people. So, in the photos and video, taller people will look better. Plus, many of the designs (the ones which normal people will never be seen in, of course) look better on tall people. So while you and I may think short girls look better, from the eye of the photographer and designer, tal girls look better. Hope this makes sense.

it really depends on what and where you are modeling. tall and thin is the typical standard for a runway model, but if you look around, you should be able to find place where you can be average height. it really all depends on the circumstances. i hope that helps. but normally tall and thin has some "alluring" aspect.

i agree with you. but yea, they may have their own reasons to choose only taller girls. but there are many slender petite girls as well and i think they look just as good as tall models. some tall models are way too skinny.
but, IF....taller girls look better when fitting....what about clothes for petite girls which is atleast half of the pupulation already? any designers care to make that? clothes that actually FITS petite girls?i for one am studying fashion design and my goal is to make clothes to fit petite girls and make them look hotter than tall girls can ever be. i'm 4'10.

i dont think it's fair that only tall models are most of the time excepted i think a short is just as pretty and can walk just as well on the run way. beside 5'7 ppl look to long and skinny

Because taller people look longer and leaner in clothes. While short people end up looking short and stubby.

It depends on the popular look. I mean in the past, chubby women used to be the body type everyone wanted to be. Now it's skinny women.

i dont know im 5'2 and they told me i was too short to b on the runway! i could only b commercial....i guess its becuz of the way the clothes fit i guess?
