See the following site for point slope formula:
http://www.freemathhelp.com/point-slope.html

1. Solve for slopes for each line (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) and then plug that in for m and use one of the sets of points for x and y in point-slope formula.

If lines are parallel, they have same slope; if perp, then slopes are negative inverses of each other.

2. Solve for slopes for each line (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) and then plug that in for m and use the set of points for x and y in point-slope formula.

3. take negative inverse of slope; use point-slope formula.

4. whereever you see x, put in the value (-2) and solve

5. Simply means to rearrange equation using sub/mult/add/subtraction to solve for x

6. Start with defining one of the variables: let x = first number, let x + 12 = second number

I hope this helps!
