They don't call him "J. Load" for nothing. I'm a die hard Giants fan, but I've kind of lost my patience with Eli. I was optimistic when the momentum started early with today's game, but they should have scored instead of just get a FG during the 2nd quarter. Between that, Eli's slipups and an offensive coordinator that was replaced too late in the season, a massive QB for next year might be a welcome change.

I had the privilege to watch "The Hefty Lefty" in action for w few years at Kentucky.
I am not a U.K fan at all, The Cardinals of Louisville are the team to beat football wise here inside the state. But Lorenzen always made the game exciting. He followed in the footsteps of Tim Couch and he did a decent job. A huge running threat if he was given a second or two to run the ball. When he was on he was on. I think Tom Coughlin and the Giants organisation see something in him to have him backing Eli.
Given his frame and size, I'd say if he doesn't watch his battle of the bulge, within a couple of years, he won't be as mobile in the pocket.
Good accuracy, hard to bring down one on one, he definitely an assett for the "G Men".
But ..........I didn't come to start no trouble I just came to do the SUPER BOWL SHUFFLE!

I saw him playing today. I think this is a trend that you will begin to see emerge within the coming years.
Coughlin used Lorenzen in much the same way that Urban Meyer uses Tim Tebow of the Florida Gators. He subs him in key short down situations.
It's a great strategy. When he comes in the game you know its for running, but you don't know if he's going to hand it off or keep it himself. I wouldn't be surprised to see more pro and college teams utilize an occasional 2-quarterback system like that.

They should've given him a chance. It's honestly not like the Giants had a shot in hell anyways, so why not go with Lorenzen? He could've stepped or sat on a few guys, made a few big plays. Something. Anything.
This is coming from a Giants fan too.

He's a load, isn't He? a 285 Lb. Quarterback. I hope to see more of Him next year, especially, in short yardage situations.
