Get one of those grade 3 or whatever books that show you how the letters are supposed to be formed, and where you can trace them to get the flow. and some people never get 'nice' handwriting because the mechanics just don't work for them. Just try to get to a level where others can read it, and if your printing is better, use that whenever you can. (I am not being sarcastic, my son had to improve his handwriting in high school because some of his teachers were stupid and wouldn't accept typewritten)

My "secret" way worked magic for me. Get graph paper, the kind of paper with the lines on them that forms boxes. Then, in each box, write a letter. Just write the alphabet over and over again. If its cursive, you can either connect or not connect the letters, but make sure each individual letter is in its own box.

But practice, practice, practice. Make sure you write out sentences, too. Believe it or not, the alphabet and sentences look a lot different.

Find writing you like and practice. Sometimes I like how someone writes a certain letter better than I do and I will try to change mine...

I also have horrible handwriting, but can be decent when I make the effort.

Try this- When you write try to 'round your letters'. This often lessens the chicken-scratch appearance of your letters.

you can do more practise, like write the alphabet a hundred or even a thousand times, small and capitalised. that's the secret of good hand writing.

They say that people with messier handwriting will become smart!

But as for an actual solution I can only say practice; I have absolutely horrible handwriting myself but I do have medical reasons for it.

you know how Bart Simpson wrote on the black board each day?? i would practice writing my ABC's on each line of a page... i would try to make them legit, and also try to better your penmanship. hope it works out for you. good luck. (my handwriting sucks also, but i get lots of compliments on it.)

look at someones writing that you like and try to imitate it. Slowing down when you write will help also.
