Emo (an abbreviation of "emotionally-driven Hardcore punk") is a term now broadly used to describe almost any form of guitar-driven alternative rock that expresses emotions beyond traditional punk's limited emotional palette of alienation and rage. It is also used to describe fans of this genre, most commonly teenagers. (e.g., emo kid). Emo stands for emotional music and its setting up extremely widespread. it really is a mix between screamo, metal, and punk in spite of the undeniable fact that fairly a lot continuously punk and screamo (might want to grant an reason for why they commonplace because it emo). besides, many of the lyrics communicate about unhappy concerns and often the thanks to get by way of way of them. maximum dress punky and often in black in spite of the undeniable fact that now no longer continuously in spite of the undeniable fact that then this style in all fairness various of compared to three. Whiny EMOTIONAL people.

And no, they are not goths. I dont know where people got this idea from. They are more of the scenester type, and are loud, obnoxious, yet claim to cut themselves and things like that.

Bottom Line: They are just big drama queens and kings, who overdramaticize every smallest thing and turn it into a big "emotional" mess.
Oh and most of them want to die, which is ironic since they claim to love the pain of cutting themselves, which is a sign of being alive.
It saddens me a bit that people still have those huge stereotypes about goths and gothic culture. And i assure you, its NOTHING like what people today perceive it to be. Unlike emos, goths know how to appreciate themselves, and are a hell of a lot smarter than them. Of course, everyone is different, no stereotype is exactly true.

They are generally teenagers who wear black, are depressed and cut themselves and listen to whiny music like Dashboard Confessional. Emo is a derivative of emotional.
