My turtle won't open his eyes. Does anyone know why or what the problem could be?

Sounds like your turtle has a disease. Sadly, people sell baby turtles illegally and don't know much about their care so they can't inform buyers. Your only hope now is to get it to a reptile vet, and even this may not help. It could be stressed, have a respiratory infection, or worse. Are you familiar with the care of turtles? If not, you may be keeping it in poor conditions, you may have temperature problems, or not have the appropriate equipment. please check out my site for the basic care of turtles and good luck! www.geocities.com/radiofemme/turtles

My turtle got a coating of some kind on his eyes, any petstore that sells reptile supplies should have "Turtle/ reptile eye drops" to soften and remove this covering. (it may be clear or just on the lids holding them shut if you don't see anything)

It can be a lot of things, but is usually a basic care issue- dirty water, vitamin A problems, etc.

I found that so funny I laughed out loud. And just so I don't get reported for no answering your question, I'll say he's cooked himself from the inside by mistake.

Um...not to be rude, but is he breathing? If so, he may not be feeling well.

It's wishing you would go away and leave it alone as it tries to sleep.
