dont u do it like this 7 - 3t = 13 u have to get the letter alone so u move 7 to the other side and its turns into +3t =13 + 7 doesnt the operation sigh change if it was 7 - it changes into 7 + so its 20 then 3t/3 and 20/3 then divide it.so when u move it it stays the same i am confused the operation sign has to change.

7-3t=13. This is a simple pre-algebra question. So you start by subtracting 7 from both sides of the equal sign. leaves you with the equation -3t=6. Divide both sides of the equal sign by -3 which leaves you with t=-2.

This is a little tricky, but not too hard if you take it one step at a time:
The first thing you want to do is get it down to
"-3t=something" -- so you need to get rid of the 7.
But if you get rid of 7 on one side of the equation, you need to get rid of it on the other, or it won't be an equation (equal) any more. So subtract (get rid of) 7 from each side. That looks like this:
7-7-3t=13-7, or
-3t=6
Now each of the sides can be divided by 3, right?
So do that: -3t/3=6/3, or
-1t=2
In other words, -t=2
But you want to know what a positive t is, not a negative. So what do you do? Remember that whatever you do to one side of the equation, you do to the other, so....
Multipy each side by -1 (a neg number times a negative number is a positive number):
(-1)(-t)=(2)(-1)
and voila! t = -2
Now try this one, just to make sure you've "got" it:
5 - 2x = 9 Find x.

t=(-2). You know 7+6+13 to get-3t to six you multiply -3 x -2 to get +6.
So the formula would read 7-3(-2)+13. T is just a random letter, it could have been been any letter.

ok so first of all your question would be 7-3t=13, so you take away 7 from each sid to make it even and then your awnser would be 3t=6 deivde 6 by 3 and you have 2 so t =2
hope it helps!

Always remember, an algebraic formula is like a balance, what you do to one side you must do to the other to keep is balanced.
7-3t=13
7-7-3t=13-7
-3t=6
-3t/-3=6/-3
t=-2
for proof, 7-(3x-2)=13
7-(-6)=13
7+6=13

simple. get t on a side by itself.
1) 7 - 3t = 13
2) -3t = 6
3) t = -2

What you need to do is get t by itself.
7-3t= 13
subtract 7 from both sides, which gives you
-3t=6
divide by -3, which gives you
t= -2
