You might think I'm crazy, but in a way, I do. It helps me unwind. If I had a choice, I'd do laundry anytime over going to work in the stinkin factory I work at. Unfortunately it won't pay the bills. I'd much rather do laundry than dishes any day of the week!

Believe it or not. I do like to do laundry. I feel great when I can get stains out of my kids' clothes. It is a great feeling also to wear nice and clean clothes. You get more respect when you dress in nice and clean clothes. So I guess you can say I feel like I am doing an important job when I do laundry.

I like folding laundry...I wrote an essay about that and turned it in for English. My teacher thought I was absolutely insane. I got a perfect score. =D
I sit in my room, the clothes basket by my side. If I just dump them out onto my bed, I can flop down onto the pile that smells of Tide Mountain Spring. In the summer they’ve been drying on the clothesline, and I swear I can smell the sunshine on them, too. It’s wintertime today, though, which is the best. The clothes have come straight from the dryer, and the fabric’s still warm. I take an armload of them and use it as a sort of heated blanket. When they cool, I’ll put them away, but for now I’ll just enjoy the warmth.
I...this is so hard to say...I like folding laundry. There, I said it. I’m guilty. I’m fifteen, and I ought to be a stereotypical teenager, and I’m supposed to enjoy sitting on the couch watching TV, eating junk food, and blasting my eardrums out with music. I’m supposed to run off and get a tattoo or live at the mall. I’m supposed to spend hours on the phone with my friends, gossiping about whose three-minute relationship just ended. Instead, I happen to enjoy neatly folding my clothes and putting them away. What went wrong?
Every weekend, my mother yells at me to stop doing homework and go put my clothes away. I ask her to wait—I like putting my clothes up in the evening. I save the chance to put my clothes away as a sort of reward for getting all of my homework done. Sometimes I’ll even sacrifice my precious few hours of sleep so that I have a chance to neaten up my room; I’ve been known to stay up as late as twelve or one in the morning so I can put my clothes away. Yes, something definitely went wrong. It might be some sort of biological disease—Mysophobia, fear of dirt? Ataxophobia, fear of disorder and untidiness? It could just be a sign of mental instability, too. Either way, I don’t think this is considered normal.
Yeah. I went on in that vein for another few pages, but I'd rather not bore you.
Last paragraph:
When I’m folding laundry, I get a chance to listen. I listen to my family downstairs, but I’m alone in my room. It’s quiet, unlike the hallways at school or the dressing room at ballet. It’s calm, unlike everywhere else. I can’t save the world by folding laundry, but I can make myself content. I can do something useful where it’s quiet and calm, which is better than doing nothing at all. There’s nothing wrong with that, is there?

I like doing laundry. They smell from the soap and softener is so refreshing. Folding warm laundry is relaxing to me. Now putting it away is another story.
