My parents, but it affected my mother the most. She hoarded soap, toilet tissue, personal items like that. They were a luxury back then. She also cooked huge amounts of food even after all of us kids had left home.

Both of my grandparents did...
Then my grandpa lied about his age to get into the service in the 40s to make sure he had food and a place to sleep but went to war...
They saved their money when he got back from the war and now they offer food to you when you visit constantly because they know that they have some to offer...

Yeah my grandma and my great grandma..
They had to deal with not being able to bath.. each day.. not having enough food.. for her family.. and having to take care of her kids becuz her husband had to leave the town in order to find work

my gramdparents, they say it was hard, but they didn't really understand it. my grandma says her dad couldn't keep a job. my grandpa says he had to work for the food, he was like 14, but he would do work for the neighbors for a few dollars.
