Is there a way to tell if someone is using my wireless internet connection? I'm sure I set up the router with a password but you can never be too careful.

The password alone will not keep someone out. It just restricts them from configuring the router. You have to also use encryption such as WEP or limit the router to only the MAC addresses connecting to it.

Typically you can view attached wireless devices on the routers configuration webpage.

you can use software such as Ethereal to view each and every packet crossing your router. Each packet represents data flowing in/out of your network. this particular software also shows what ip's the data is going to which you can then look up etc.
Although your router has a password, this is mainly to access its settings.
What you want to do is turn on SSID broadcast. This is done in your router's wireless settings. Basically it will make a security key that only computers that have the id can get on your net.
So you have to give the id to your computers so even they can get on. This is the best security besides a firewall.

You need to encrypt your connection from the settings on your routers webpage so people cannot "steal" your signal.
Shawn H is right you need to have a WEP encryption set up.
The password only stops people going into your router settings and has no effect on who is on your connection.
