waht is the purpose for ur horn on ur car? i had a question on my permit test that says when there is an ambulance comming behind u do u pull off and honk ur horn to tel every1 that there is an emergency or what?? (This is the test for missouri) or when do u honk your horn while u are driving i am having trouble on that question?

The horn is an alert mechanism, for example if you are driving down the road and a person is coming from a side street or backing out of a driveway and attempt to pull out in front of you or right beside you honk your horn to alert them that you are there. As for when driving you can also sound your horn when going around very sharp corners to alert someone coming from the other direction on a one lane road.

Don't honk for an emergency vechicle, just pull over.
the horn is to alert drivers (like if they aren't moving when the light turns green or something).
