Finally a good question. I like Jason Newsted better. He was the main force behind Flotsam and Jetsam before he joined Metallica. He brought a good metal style with him to the band. I think part of the the reason he left is Metallica was becoming a shell of what they used to be. I think Jason wanted to rock out a little more. Now, I think Robert Trujillo is an excellent bass player. Plus I think he has excellent stage presence. But I think his style just doesn't quite fit Metallica's style...at least their old school music. Jason is a little bit more metal, more along the lines of Cliff Burton, which is a good thing.

Jason Newstead! Metallica screwed up when they let him get away. He was the only bassist that could even come close to Cliff Burton

Jason...he was one of the keys to why Metallica were so good. He's an incredible musician.
