Lortab is a combination of hydrocodone and acetominophen (tylenol). Hydrocodone is a narcotic...in the same class as codeine, morphine, and heroin. Acetominophen is a pain killer whose exact mechanism of action in pain relief still isn't clearly understood, but it has no effect on inflammatory respones. Thus, Lortab is not an anti-inflammatory.

If you're having pain secondary to inflammation of tissues, ibuprofen or naproxyn may help your pain a little better.

There are no anti-inflammatory properties in lortabs, it is a pain killer only.

If you're talking about Lortab, it's a painkiller, and a strong one at that! Nothing to do with anti-inflammatory here.

Do you mean "lortab"? It is a narcotic analgesic (pain killer)/ acetaminophen (generic for Tylenol) compound.

No, it's a pain medication. My mother use to take it for pain.
