Would you buy the "smart" car...or is the "smart" car not so smart?

This is a great idea for someone:
a- Who has enough disposable income that they can afford a second car for day-to-day commuting;
b- Who is willing to make sacrifices to live their greenie beliefs;
c- Who lives in a metro area and maybe only uses a car for grocery shopping or a short trip across town.
There aren't so many places in California where this is feasible as an only car.
It sure doesn't fit anywhere into my life (I carry equipment across a territory of NorCal, Nevada, and Utah) and we won't be buying one.

The Smart car is built by mercedes and very popular in Germany. I guess they sold the model to Daimler, which is German, anyway I dont think it will do well if it comes to the states. I was in Germany for the last 4 years. Those small cars are popular in europe, not in the states.

They sell incredibly well in Europe. I was shocked to see how many there are in London. They even make a roadster. The scariest thing is the price tag! The roadster sell for 12,000 to 18,000 GBP which is in the $20K to $40K range (RIP OFF!!!!!). I much prefer the Mercedes A-Class. I wish they would sell that here.

I think it was designed for Europe and maybe Asia. Anyone in their right mind better have their life insurance and will up to date here in the USA. I can just see driving that on the I-5 during rush hour.

I vill buy ze car, i do not like Amerikaners who are mistaken in their belief that cars can fart. Where do they get their education from whom ismwhat i vould van to know.

you know if it wasn't for the Germans no one would be in space almost everything that pushed America ahead of the U.S.S.R. was because of Germans if it wasn't because of Germans automobiles and air travel would be primitive Germans are geniuses it was Hitler that was a dummy
