I am looking for a good quality lightweight laptop. I commute and the one that I currently have is far too heavy to carry around with me every day. I don't really have very many techincal needs- just that it be wireless ready and can run Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Thanks!

The weight is normally determined by the screen size. An optical drive also adds weight. IBM/Lenovo has some lightweight the Thinkpad X60's are light but only have a 12" screen. The Thinkpad T60's are about 6 lbs with a 15" screen.

i have inspiron 1501 and from dell it very light and it is wi fi
and not heavy not to light just for you and wireless can have dell
putt on what you what the price is 749 or low as $23mo.
one more thing that loptop is hot!

They were a lot heavier back in the 90's, you should be thankful.

Macbook, can run word, powerpoint and excell. AND you can have fun with it!!!!!!!!
