which is better the sims 2 or the sims 2 pets?

Well the actual Sims 2 game is the base game, you have to have it in order to use any of the expansion pack games and the sims 2 pets is an expansion pack. So if you want to play the sims 2 pets you have to have the sims 2 game. I think it's worth getting the game and all it's expansion pack because the more expansion packs you have the better the game is. So don't just buy the sims 2 pets cause you wont be able to play it without the sims 2.

The Sims 2 is the base game - without it you don't have any of the expansion packs like pets or university or nightlife, etc.

So on that basis, Sims 2 is obviously the best because it allows us to have all the cool stuff like pets.

A better question would probably be which expansion pack do you like the best!

both are great but you have to buy the sims 2 in order to have to play or install the sims 2 pets, sims 2 nightlife, sims 2 college,etc.

You have to have the Sims2 in order to play Pets. Pets is just an expansion pack and it does make playing The sims 2 much more fun!
