accutane is a fairly new drug ( arrived in the 90's ) that is very strong for fighting acne. i know that my skin got completely dried out within a week's time and my face turned completely red and i looked like a cactus. YOU MUST NOT GET PREGNANT during you treatment with accutane. if you do, your baby will be born with birth defects of great magnitude. so it is very important that you go on the pill to prevent pregnancy....you may also want to consider using a condom at the same time....
but believe me, and trust me when i say this medication will work for you...you must ask your dermatologist what the best way would be for you to deal with the dryness you will encounter during the course of using this medication......
some people may experience light dryness & redness and some people may experience heavy dryness & redness.....some people have to use it for a short time and some people have to use it for a long time...it just depends on how well your complexion tolerates accutane....for me, it was just a short course of usage. so i was one of the lucky ones...but remember, everyone is different and may respond very well to the drug and some people may not respond well and may have to take it for a much longer time. i recommend that you keep a positive attitude towards the drug which may warrant a very short course.

Accutane is being a case for lawsuits for not warning patients of some serious effects.
My daughter got different health problmes and found out it is because of the accutane.
She took it for acne, it helped really well. But it was about 5 yrs later that her problems developed.
You might want to search the internet about the lawsuits being taken about accutane.

took me about a month and half or so but it changes because everyones body is different
