I like to have my t-shirts to have a tighter than average fit (since it's the style nowadays), but to do that I have to buy my shirts in the medium size. These look perfect on me, but after wearing them for a little while my shoulders/upper back start to get irritated because it's too tight.

So I have to wear a large shirt, but it's very big around my waist and the sleeves are too long and baggy.

Is there a t-shirt company that makes shirts for broad shouldered people? Any other advice would be appreciated.

Generally, only rugby shirts are actually tailored for that look. Most t-shirts have a square main panel that's the same width at the bottom as at the top. Look for 'tapered fit' in the description - they're not common, and usually more expensive.

Yes your better off getting a shirt that fits right and is comfy on you and for your broad shoulders you can pick a pattern that excentuate your broadness there are t shirts out there that have a marking on either side of your chest to give it that muscular look and since you already have the broadness this will only emphasis that more and will look nice. I have seen men wear these typs of shirts and there flattering on there upper body.

I hope i explained it well enough. If you come back and post pictures of different shirts and I see it i'll let you know choose a few so we can pick from. keep in mind they usually have a marking around the end of the chest more towards the arm and a near the color bone area.

I know a lot of skater shops are selling "slim fit" t-shirts now. That kind of style might help you find the look that you are going for. My best friend has a really broad shoulders too, and that's what we do for him, since he's pretty slim at the waist.
You can try Pacific Sunwear, either online or at the store.

Definitely check out Breezy Beach Wear's Apparel line on Zazzle. http://www.breezybeachwear.com

My husband also has broad shoulders and I get him polos and long-sleeved shirts from there and they fit him great!

Cotton breaths so if your not already wearing that then shoot for it, or any other fabric that is airy.
