I worked full time before my baby. When i returned to work i approached my employer and told him that i cannot work full time anymore, if i can continue part time. He agreed. Now, he's firing me from that part time job and saying that if i dont work full time i have to leave. Can i claim unemployment for something like that?

Thanks all for your answers, however, one more thing i must add. I filed for unemployment and they called my boss and he said he never hired me for part time. It turns out that it's my word against his word because i dont have proof that he did hire me part time, but neither is there anything in writing for the full time job. I do have one thing that i may argue and that is that after taking me back part time i asked for a pay raise and my boss granted it to me. Would that be helpful on appeal?

In most states , any termination , (except for criminal reasons) makes you eligible for unemployment.

Your chances for unemployment are good as long as you weren't terminated for "misconduct" of any kind
