I think reality is only slightly closer to his dream than it was during his lifetime. I don't think he would be satisfied with how the world is today, because there is still so much injustice all around us. I think he would call the laws that have been made and the steps that have been taken inadequate and incompetent in achieving equal rights. I think that he would denounce what some people are willing to call "progress" as being nothing more than a bandage on wounds that need healing, not covering up.

While there are affirmative action and equal opportunity laws, there is still a great deal of racism and discrimination outside of racism as well.

At the same time, many times over his dream has been accomplished in moments where people have been judged by "the content of their character" rather than "the color of their skin", where boys and girls, men and women of different races have lived peaceably and contentedly together, where "freedom rings" in bright spots and rare moments, perhaps humanity's finest moments.

No, people prefer to be with their own kind rather than integrate and would rather get special privileges based on race than work on an equal plane with everyone.

some people are practicing it. (ex: i am white, married to a black man.)
and some people are definantly still biggoted. (ex: my cousin-in-law is a server at a popular restaurant, and today some of his customers refused to be served by him because he is a "n 1gger."
