How do people "celebrate" Christmas if they are not Christian and do not believe in Christ? I am befuddled by how many non-christians say that they celebrate Christmas.

Non-Christians celebrate the commercialized version of Christmas, for those of us who are Christians, I personally believe we get so much more out of it because we know the greatest gift given to mankind! God bless!

The celebrate the gift-giving and eating part of Christmas. I often think that ppl have lost sight of the reason for Christmas-- the birth of Jesus. Everytime the manmade festival which takes place around Dec. 25 has a glitch or setback, I just take a deep breath and remember that the most important thing about Christmas is the birth of Christ, not whether or not I got the presents I wanted or whether or not I could find a particular brand of chocolates.

Because the holiday of Christmas is based on a festival long before what is today known as Christmas. They used to exchange gifts, and play games, and feast on boar's head and make special fires.

The church decided to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ just after the mid-winter to join in the festivities and adopted many of those traditions into theirs.

It also arrives during Hanukkah, a holiday Jesus Christ would have celebrated.

It is a very special time of year to many for a really long time.
