You hold down SHIFT, CTRL, and C. Also, a little extra help: type in "motherlode" to get 50,000 simoleans extra. You can do this as many times as you want. Hope this helps! You can email me if you have anymore questions.

hold down ctrl & shift & C at the same time. type in what cheat you want and hit enter. If you change your mind and want to close the cheat box just type in "exit" and it will go away until you bring it up again. hope that helps!

Let me start by saying that I almost never play it unless I use the cheats..haha. Move into a cheap house, get lots of money, then buy or build new huge nice house, buy all the nicest stuff then play so they have plenty of money to live off of until I get them a job. But I just asked my bf who get me into and he is a PC buff, he said the only thing he can think of is to uninstall the game and reinstall it again. He said he has never heard of that not opening. Sorry I couldnt be more help.
