naruto is an anime( which is a japenese cartoon) and a manga (which is a japenese comic book) it about a boy who lives in a village of ninjas and wants to become the top ninja called the hokage he is also a vessel for a terrible monster called the kyuubi or the ninetails( this monster devestated the whole village but the the third or fourth not sure hokage sealed it in naruto) and everyone doesn't like him because of the monster inside of him and naruto doesn't even know it's in him in the begining of the story until a teacher tricks naruto to get a forbidin scroll ( naruto thinking it will teach him cool ninja moves) but his teacher doesn't care for naruto and just wants the scroll ( but the teacher tell naruto he has a monster inside of him and that is why everyone hates him) but another teacher comes for naruto help but almost get killed so naruto uses the move he learned from scroll to beat the snot out of the other teacher but thats how naruto finds out how the nine tails is inside of him
any ways basically naruto wants to become hokage to be respected by everyone there is a buch more like he joins a team of 3 people and 1 captain and he goes for the chunin exam which has exciting fights and more.... its a really good comic and the anime is ok to

It is a anime show and book. It was made in Japan. It is mainly about a 12 year old ninja name Naruto who has a demon fox sealed inside of him that once attacked his village. When Naruto becomes a ninja he is put in team 7 with Sakura Haruno (he likes her) and Sasuke Uchiha (Sakura likes him) lead by Kakashi Hatake, an elite ninja. They go on missions together and are now going through the chuunin exams (an exam to get to a higher ninja level).
