my bro has bought a ge force 6200 card for his pc but didnt buy memory. but he says the comp lags on battlefield2.

if he bought memory will it still lag? or will it fix the lag?

he has a Service pack 2, Pentium 4, 2.53ghz, 512RAM and cable internet

Well you didn't tell us how much RAM he has right now, so it would be hard to tell. I can tell you that the 6200 is garbage for gaming, so I am not surprised it is lagging, he could have 4GB of RAM and it would still lag using that card. So basically, no getting more RAM is not gonna fix the problem, he needs a better video card.

That depends on alot of factors. He made need to check the speed of his CPU, check for any updates pertaining to his memory or hard drive, and check the speed of his Internet connection. Most Internet games lag due to Internet connection, due to the high volume of users that are online at once. As more people begin to play a game, it slows down the servers because of the amount of requests that the game processes. He should be fine provided he has at least 512 MB of DDR Ram and a 2 Ghz or equivalent processor.

The problem with lag can lie in 3 spots....
* video
* RAM
* Internet connection
You would have to figure outwhich is the problem, and fix that problem.

depends on the graphics card and the cpu, the cpu is ok maybe another stick of 512 ram, run at 800x600 medium settings, 35fps

yes adding ram will definitely help it out. also tell him to get the latest vid drivers for it also. another tip defrag always after gamming , games are hard on hdd files
