My PC used to restart when tap the motherboard, so I replaced it (Asus P5W DH Deluxe, working fine now). I also checked the case's restart cord and nothing is wrong with it. Does anyone have any suggestion? Can it be the power supply? I bought a really cheap power supply, $23 from newegg.com.
My PC is a Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz, 2 x 1gb Cosair XMS, Gigabyte GeForce 7900GT

Do u place your PC directly on the floor? If u do, try to put it on table.
Does recently you have trouble with your power supply? Suddenly shutdown or something like that? if it does, try to release the timer batterry, use a pencil eraser, wipe your batterry with it. Put the batterry back, set time and date, that might work.

thank u

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere. Make sure all connections inside the PC are firmly connected it could be one of those. If it used to go off when you tapped the motherboard and it still seems to be doing the same when you bump it it could be one of the internal power connections.

Check all power and data connections outside and inside the pc for loose connections

Could it be as simple as a loose power cable? Did you check that?

Could it be the power receptacle you're using?
Be sure to isolate the problem to your PC - may be faulty receptacle or surge protector? Try using the computer at different location/receptacle.

Ensure all your connections are solid (inside and outside the box), and do yourself a favor and never buy a cheap power supply ever again.

Yes it could be a faulty power supply, or it could be your power plug or the power connector from your power supply to your motherboard.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
