FN = Function,
To be used in conjunction with the keys with the same coloured symbols or numbers as the function key.
This key only really appears on laptops. Its a fast way of giving you access to such things as wireless on, hibernate, etc. If you use the function key in conjunction with the qwerty keyboard keys that have numbers on you can you ise the keyboard to enter numbers, this is due to laptop keyboards being smaller and not having the extra calculator number panel on the end.

fn = function. It works like the "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys do.
You normally only find a 'fn' button on laptops or keyboards that are not full sized. Often you will find the numeric keyboard is overlayed the alpha keys. Using the "P" key as an example
press "p" = "p"
press shift p = "P"
press fn p = 9
the function key id's are normally a different colour / color and smaller in the top left or right hand side of the alpha letter key.

Otherwise called "Function" it is used on laptop keyboards to access other things such as screen brightness, volume control, and other things. Look for other buttons on your keyboard that match the color of the Fn lettering. Then hold down the function key and press that button to see what happens. Otherwise refer to your instructions to see what each button does.

It is usually on laptops. It is a specific color. Other keys on the keyboard have numbers on them in that same color. Hold down fn and those keys to type the number indicated. It is meant so that you can use a number keybad within the laptop keyboard.
