Benzene has alternating double bonds between the carbon ions. It is a ring structure of 6 carbons and 6 hydrogens and is a carcinogen (causes cancer). Each carbon has 1 hydrogen ion bonded to it. I'm sure there is a figure of benzene in the chapter in your text. Double bonds are known as "Pi" (yes, as in 3.1415) bonds.
Carbon dioxide has O=C=O (2 double bonds).
What is methande? Or do you mean methane?
CH4? There are no double bonds in methane. They are all sigma bonds.
I'm not sure the point of the chapter in your book so it's hard for me/us to tell you how to compare these compounds.

Why don't you use Google or your textbook and learn what the structure of each is. Carbon dioxide is CO_2 and has one carbon and two oxygens, in a pattern like this O=C=O. Benzene is I think C_6H_6 6 carbons and 6 hydrogens in a ring. If you mean methane for the third, that's CH_4 with all the hydrogens coming off the carbon in the middle.

Benzene has a chemcal formula of C6H6. It is a 6 membered ring aromatic hydrcarbon.
Carbondioxide has a chemical formula of CO2. It's chemical structure is O=C=O.
Benzene has resonane structure - CO2 doesn't at STP.
CO2 is a gas, C6H6 is a liquid.
Methane has a chemical formual of CH4, is a gas, and is the simplest of all hydrocarbons (butane and ocatane[hear of the octane rating on fuels?] are also hydrocarbons) - very different than benzene which is an aromatic hydrocarbon.
CO2 does not burn. Both Methane and Benzene are highly flammable.

well the formula for Carbon dioxide is CO2. Benzene is C6H6. another difference is Benzene forms a ring while carbon dioxide forms a line. You must mean methane. it is CH4 and looks like a plus sign. it has fewer carbons

Formula for benzene: C6H6
Formula for carbon dioxide: CO2
Formula for methane: CH4
-ene ending of benzene means at least 1 double bond
-ane ending of methane means all single bonds
Benzene http://www.amacad.org/images/benzene.gif
CO2 has carbon in center with each oxygen double bonded to C
That should be a good start for you.

beneze is a ring structure containing 6 carbons and 6 hydrogens. you can go to www.chemfinder.com and type in "benzene" to see the structure. you can also type in the names of the other compounds you are interested in to see how they look compared to one another.

Carbon Monoxide is created from gas home equipment at your house of abode. Carbon Dioxide is created from the exhaust fumes out of your automobile. the two of those gases could properly be risky to a human. those gases could properly be much extra risky to small animals at your house of abode. observing the size of your homestead you are able to desire to have a carbon monoxide detector on each and every point of your homestead. once you purchase a carbon monoxide detector you are able to desire to make useful those you purchase enable you comprehend while they are out of the sorting out fabric. many times a detector lasts approximately 5 years. On carbon dioxide do on no account start up your automobile and go away it working with the storage door closed. this is carbon dioxide and must be very risky.

if you need a visal of the structures either them out and find the convalent bonds, double bonds etc, or can go to www.chemfinder.com (might have to register, but its free, and a wonderful site for structures and formulas). also on contrast may be one is saturated and soluble while the other might not be.
how it helps
