why dont i have any gears?

my 1974 dt 250 has no gears except 1st the trans worked great up until now whats the matter

Pull the clutch side cover and check the rachet linkage on the shifting drum.

Damaged shift linkage, shift drum, or shift forks. The motor will have to be disassembled and inspected. There are no external quick fixes.
