I try to do the 8 hours but its never enough, I try to switch to 7 or 6 hours and I get really tired later. I always want to sleep wherever I am at no matter what time it is. I'm only satisfied with like 11 to 13 hours of sleep. I have tried the 8 hours forever but i can never get used to it. Frustrated. I'm pretty healthy and go to the gym, i'm only 25 and feel 75.

I feel exactly the same. I am 23, I work 8-5, I go to the gym, so I think I am pretty healthy, but I need at least 10 hours sleep if not more. I would really love to reduce the amount that I sleep, because I don't seem to have time to do anything. I am afraid I don't really have an answer, but thanks for asking the question I wanted to ask!

Iron Deficiency Anemia will definitely do that, as in the first answer. Ask the Dr. to be tested for this. If that's it, Slow Fe time released iron works best & is easiest on the stomach. If that's your problem the reason is that the process of using oxygen in the hemoglobin is inhibited by a lack of iron.
In any case, your body is seriously trying to get your attention, goto a good Dr., especially one skilled in toal body wellness, ie, holistic, alternative therapies as well as being an MD.
Kudos to you for paying attention to this, you are going to feel so much better once this is taken care of.
Best of health to you in 2007!

Let me ask you this...after all that sleep, do you feel like an 80 yr old person trying to crawl out of bed? Do certain parts of your body ache like crazy? You could be experiencing a form of Fibromyalgia. You might want to go and see your doctor about this. It could just be chronic fatigue syndrome, but its best to find out soon so you can get on the road to recovering from this, or at least learn how to combat it better.
