I was jumped in an alley in 1999, and was sort of disfigured, its not so bad, but it took all my self confidence, I have not been the same since, and have not had a girlfriend since.

I'm sorry to hear that, that's terrible.
There are plenty of women out there who are not vain and do not care what a man looks like, such as myself. I'm sure you will find someone, it just takes time, even for most people in general.
Be confident, you are who you are, and that's it. If you are a nice, charming guy some woman is bound to fall for you.

I don't know how old you are, but it should not matter as far as this is concerned. When I was younger, I was not that great looking (still ain't) but this is the deal. I was so shy about my looks that I made it impossible for myself to get a girlfriend. In fact, I would have to say that while all my friends were getting plenty, I could not get laid even if I walked through the state prison for women waving a handful of pardons. Then one day I noted that the continuing education dept. in my city was offering night courses in ballroom dancing. I thought that it sounded pretty lame, but it was cheap and desperate times called for etc... Anyway, there are plenty of women there who are interested in meeting guys and learning something that you will all have in common. For the most part, they did not care what I looked like. They were more interested in having someone to dance with. As I got better at it, the easier it got, and believe me with a common interest and something to do together, I managed to get involved with more women than I ever imagined possible. I even got married at one point and stayed that way for 19 years until my wife died. Now I am dancing again and I have little trouble meeting women.
Give it a shot. If you can dance with them, they won't mind if you have a minor flaw in your appearance. After all, nobody is perfect, especially the older we get. Good luck.

Chicks dig scars dude. Really. My god what a great line to use.
"Oh that? It's nothin, got into a knife fight in an alley back in 99." Pair that up with a black leather jacket and I can think of a half dozen girls in my town alone that'd be buying YOU drinks.
Not to belittle what happened to you but the scars that are keeping you from getting a girlfriend now aren't the ones on your body, it's the ones on your psyche. You have to learn how to look in the mirror like millions of balding, fat, sweaty guys do, and see a hot guy, and then keep that image in your mind as you go out. People tend to pick up on the image that you carry in your head of yourself... a beautiful girl can be totally overlooked if she hides in the corner, hair down covering her eyes, slouching and not talking to anyone. Just take a deep breath, tell yourself that you're a hot guy and someone worth getting to know better, and get out there and meet girls!

Scars are cool...chicks dig it! So show it off and be proud of yourself. Get out there and go hunting man!
Also watch the movie Haven the guy gets scared and hides which screws up his life.
