The question should be rephrased -- Do you like eating at the largest chain for casual dining and putting up with mediocre food, service, and atmosphere?

For those of you who answered yes, do you also lower your standards and eat at McDonald's everyday? Do you know what a real (non-chain) restaurant looks like? Do you think pre-heated meals are good?

IMHO, you shouldn't be wasting your $$$ at this mediocre place, you should save up and go to a nice non-chain restaurant with good food or find a non-chain equivalent to Applebees.

My favorite restaurants are all non chain restaurants or those that have gotten so popular they have opened up a 2nd and 3rd location (no national chains).

The food is alright, but they can never seem to cook a steak MEDIUM RARE no matter how many times you ask.

The service isn't my favorite either.

I stopped going to the applebee's near my house when the new chili's opened up.

Not particularly. I actually like food - not the latest "out of the cryovack, into the microwave, slapped onto the plate" venture of the largest chain restaurant in the US.

In general, I don't much care for chain restaurants, but Applebee's is absolutely the worst of the bunch. The food is mediocre, the service is rote, lacks personality, and is defined by "service" not "hospitality."

Like the above poster, I'd far rather spend my dining dollars with individually or small-company owned restaurants, where the food is actually cooked by people with actual skill and served by people who have not been trained to within inches of roboticism. (I don't blame the servers for their lack of personality; they aren't allowed to deviate from their script for fear of failing a "Secret Shopper" test...)

No way!! The Applebee's near me has awful service, and their food is not that spectacular for their prices!

nope no salad bar yet i imagine they have a fish & chips... dunno the menu would nicely be diverse reckoning on the region. anyhow, Applebee's meals are ok in spite of the undeniable fact that it truly is no longer an section for a romantic dinner. it truly is basically an low-value casual chain eating position and till u and the guy are youngster and combating $$$, i might want to point u to flow somehwere else for a memorable nighttime.

It's okay, but I really prefer Ruby Tuesday, Olive Garden, and and TGI Friday's better. Unfortunately I just moved to a small town with my husband and the only chain restaurant is Appleebees :(

Applebees is my McDonald's without the drive-thru. Their carside to-go sucks!
