I agree. It's just not too often that you run across someone in a social setting that really interests you. I think the best way to make friends is to join some sort of group or club. However, those can also be difficult to come by sometimes. I've tried that a few times and found myself much younger than anyone else. I guess there's really no easy way. However, a good way to make a friend when you do get talking to someone is to be interested in that person. People usually love it when you're interested in them and what they have to say. Talk more about them and less about you. Supposedly that works. Good luck with it!

Yes. when we are adults we already have weeded out lots of traitss we don't like. When younger we tend to travel in a crowd just because it's there. As I have gotten older, I find fewer people are interesting and I admit I am more cautious after being burned by people I did too much for. Also, adults, by a certain age seem to have formed a circle of friends, and aren't looking for new ones. I find it hard because i am supposedly a "free spirit" and don't fit in with older people, but am too old to want to "hang out" at bar .Sounds trite, but try volunteering at diferent things.good luck from your emotional soul mate. you are probably very nice and sensative. Forget those who don't show the same qualities and look for those who do. lol

For me I believe that its not that hard to make friend no matter how young or old you are it all depends on how you go about doing it. I can tell you that the way of going about making friends is to communicated with others, be friendly to them. You maybe should get out more often and socialize with different people even you don't even know them.

Me what I do to make friends is by introducing yourself and then talking a story with them. Make the subject your talking about very interesting and find a conversation that isn't boring or out of its way.

Going to College! I haven't had a good friend since I left school 10 years ago. Anyways everyone is sitting in front of their computers these days instead of interacting in person with other ppl. I heard of a study they did that says ppl have less friends & are more likely to not have a best friend since internet became so popular. Or somethin like that.

It can be difficult...my best offline friends are people I met on a website that has lots of members in my area...we got to know one another through the chat boards there, met at maybe a social or party of some sort, and next think you know we're good friends and spending a lot of time together, talking regularly, etc...

I have not had that problem.. however I belong to a gym, and the more you go , the more you see some of the same people, and you just get to know people that way.
Get on a league, join the gym, .... have a party, tell each person to bring one friend.
good luck!

I agree.... Try joining a club, something you enjoy doing. Maybe the gym, a biking club, skiing club, walking club or a chess club... Good luck in finding good friends, they are hard to come by!
