They arent wimpy, the league just way over protects them, alot of these hits that are roughing the passer really dont bother the QB's at all, the league is just over protecting the position they think people want to see the most, its all about the offense and the offense isnt as good without the QB, i think the league needs to lay off and go back to the old rule, where once the QB throws the ball you get one step and if you hit him after that its roughing the passer....this rule where if you hit them below the knee or touch their head its a flag is just stupid as f*ck
Alot of QB's are really tough, even with the new rules they still take a good beating, because they are almost always exposed when they are hit because of the throwing motion

Because unlike the best players in the game, Troy Polamalu and Joey Porter, QBs are used to protection, someone always watching their back. They figure that they don't have to worry as long as they have a body guard. When their defenders mess up and people come to sack them, they run until they can't run anymore.
Take Tommy Maddox for example. People let the holes in and he became a scared little wimp whenever the other team came to blitz. It's just a fact of life, soon all quarter backs will become afraid when they get the smallest bruise.

I can see your case in alot of instances, QBs do need to toughen up.
However, overwhelming amount of Injuries to QBs have made it curicial for the NFL to change rules to protect the players, QB's being the more vunerable and primary targets durning the game.

They have to be fairly tough but QBs aren't supposed to be going up against the big guys. Also, the QBs are money so no one wants them to get hurt.

Brett Favre is one of the strongest most durable qb's to ever play football. He has played through multiple injuries for the last 14 years and even when he's had emotional injuires such as losing his dad, his brother in law and his wife battling cancer. I would word your question better.

Your question is obviously inaccurate because Saint's QB, Drew Brees, is a freakin' BEAST.
